You have many side quests that don't appear on the map but is only made visible when you're close to it.Īnd then you have all your bandit camps, monster contracts and treasure hunts. When you just explore the world blind you can trigger many sidequests and marks (instant travel). Resist to start over just because you havent played in a few weeks. overwhelming task seeking out to 100% But the game is worth playing over a long stretch. Unless you're patient, and don't mind taking a long slow journey through it's world as you come back to it again and again over the weeks and months, I don't really think Wild Hunt is the title for someone who only has a little bit of free time for gaming. It's already been said, but even the simplest Contract from a notice board can take you on a journey that other games would be proud to have as a part of their main story. There is so much out there waiting to be found and while the act of playing through it all can be mechanically repetitive at times (Witcher sense), the vast majority of the side quests are really well written, take you to cool locations and have interesting characters and narratives and so on. And crucially, most people will feel rewards from really taking their sweet time with it. I'm sure there are people out there who have happily blasted through the main story and moved on, but for me, Wild Hunt is a game where most players will get the most enjoyment from straying off the main path and exploring. I think missing out on all that extra stuff could give you a more negative opinion of the game, yeah.
